Why We Started the StackTown Youth Audio Production Program
Every child has a dream.
For some, it's becoming a recording artist. For others, it's producing music, creating beats, telling stories through sound, or simply finding a place where they feel seen, heard, and valued.
Unfortunately, many young people never get the opportunity to discover what they're capable of. Too often, talent goes unnoticed—not because it isn't there, but because the resources, mentorship, and support are out of reach.
As founders of StackTown Studio, Jaquan Layne and Annmarie Layne know what it means to believe in a dream. We also know that sometimes all it takes is one person, one opportunity, or one safe place to completely change the direction of a young person's life.
That belief is why we created the StackTown Youth Audio Production Program.
This program was never just about teaching music.
It's about giving hope.
It's about creating a safe environment where young people can express themselves, build confidence, develop real-life skills, and realize that their future is bigger than the obstacles they face today.
When a student walks through our doors, we don't just see another participant—we see potential. We see future producers, engineers, entrepreneurs, business owners, educators, and leaders. Most importantly, we see young people who deserve someone to believe in them.
At StackTown Studio, we want every student to know that their voice matters, their creativity matters, and their dreams matter.
Through hands-on training in audio production, recording, mixing, music technology, teamwork, and professionalism, we're helping students build skills that can open doors for years to come. But the greatest lesson we hope they leave with isn't how to make a great song—it's knowing they are capable of achieving great things.
We believe every young person deserves a chance to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances.
This is our way of giving back to the community that helped shape us. This is our way of investing in the next generation.
Because if we can inspire just one young person to believe in themselves, to choose creativity over negativity, or to discover a passion that changes the course of their life, then every hour, every lesson, and every effort will have been worth it.
Our hope is that years from now, the students who walk into StackTown Studio today will return not only as successful artists and professionals, but as mentors who inspire the next generation to dream even bigger.
This is more than a youth program. It's a promise.
A promise that every young person who walks through our doors will be welcomed, encouraged, challenged, and reminded that their future is full of possibilities.
This is the heart of the StackTown Youth Audio Production Program.
